Our (Super Bowl) Weekend

It's a sad day for 12's everywhere.  Aside from the loss we all suffered and the cold that Gretchen so lovingly spread to both David and myself, the weekend was pretty good.

Saturday we were able to catch up around the house.  We finally took down our Christmas lights and cleaned up the garage.  I also organized a few closets and put up 2 photo collages in our living room.  Our house is getting more homey everyday. (Sorry for the bad lighting below.)

Can you believe that this beauty gave me not one, but TWO bloody noses this weekend?  She was grabbing my nose and stuck her finger inside and scratch really hard with her sharp claw!

Sunday a few of our friends came over for a Superbowl party.  I guess you could also call it a baking party!  We had entirely too much food. I love baking though and wish I had more reasons to throw parties where I could make lots of yummy Pinterest food.  Oh yea, the game was okay too...except the end.

This is Wilson...my brothers adorable dog.

This is just some of it...

We also caught Gretchen sitting by herself for the first time on Sunday...and not her sideways sit...a full on pushing herself up straight sit.  Dave and I went crazy and were cheering and clapping and she started smiling so big and then...TIMBER!  She fell backwards.  It was a great moment.

Sadly we didn't get a picture of her sitting straight up, but her is her infamous sideways sit.

Our Weekend

Happy Monday friends!  We had such a fun weekend hanging out and finally getting back into the swing of things now that the holiday's are over.

On Friday, Dave decided that he wanted to do a puzzle - I mean what better way is there to spend your free time when it is raining outside?  So I went to Target and got a couple puzzles (buy 2 get one free!) and Dave wanted to do this hilarious one first.

It took us all weekend but it was really relaxing and we definitely felt accomplished when we finished.  We were thinking about puzzle gluing it together and getting it framed for a white elephant gift next Christmas.  What do you think?

Saturday night we had a game night with our neighbors.  One of our new favorites that we got for Christmas is Telestrations .  It is definitely a fun game and if you haven't played you should check it out.  Below is my rendition of a monkey riding a flying unicorn.

On the baby front, Gretchen has started 2 new things.  First, she doesn't really have the patience to sit up right (or maybe she doesn't know how to get out of the sitting position) so she has started sitting like my late dog Spot...off to one side.  We call it her Spot Sit and she is doing it everywhere.

She also likes grabbing the spoon when we feed her.  She normally tries to grab the part with the food in it so we have to do the airplane to avoid big messes.  Since she was getting a bath Sunday night, we decided to just let her practice eating.  Aside from her flinging prunes across the dining room table, she was so cute to watch!

And just because, here is a picture of Gretchen playing in a shoe box.  Her legs are a perfect size 12.

Sleeping Baby G

This post has been a long time in the making.  I must say that our baby video monitor was the best investment we made.  I love watching Gretchen sleep!  Not only is she adorable, but some of her sleep positions are just plain hilarious!  Dave and I like to give names to her more common ones.  Here is to you Baby G, for entertaining us even when you are asleep.

Lady Liberty

A whole series of "Butt In The Air" (Searching for a better name...any ideas?)

The Jesus (pronounced the Spanish way)

The Angry Sleeper (notice the middle finger...)

The "I'm So Tired I Sleep With My Mouth Open"

The Archer/Baby Cupid

The Thumb Sucker

The Thumb Sucking Mummy

This one doesn't have a name because it only happened the one time, but seriously, look at her legs!

The Model

The Innocent Baby

This is her most common pose...The Velociraptor

And I just wanted to add one of her snuggling up on my sweatshirt...this helped sleep train her.

November In Photos

It has definitely taken me forever to do some blog catch up from the holidays.  I figured the best and easiest way was to do a review in pictures...these are pretty much all pictures of Gretchen since she is our whole world now so enjoy!

This was the month she started sucking her thumb.
Love this hat her Grandma Sheri got her.
She loves her new high chair and playing with the pancake flipper while I get her food ready.
Gretchen's first Thanksgiving.  We spent it at my moms and Dave's family joined.  I can't believe I didn't even get one picture of me and G...we even had matching bow headbands!

Haha...her face!  She eventually warmed up to him..

Everyone watching the game.

Getting our first Christmas Tree the day after Turkey Day.

I forgot a hat so she wore her grandpas...only got mistaken for a boy a few times...my bad.
